Session 1

An odd group topped the rise on Uldoon Trail heading west. Travelling together, but without the air of close friends, a pair of female genasi are perhaps the most visially striking of the group. Nephele, an air genasi with a furtive look about her, and the more confident earth genasi Gaia bookend the group. The half-elf cleric Lanayru, the human scout Locutus and the half-elf warlock Cult look almost mundane at first glance in that company. A closer look though, and the viewer is no longer sure if any of them could be classified as mundane.

After a full days travel, the group is eager to arrive in Greenest. Only a few miles away, the town is well known to cater to trade caravans which travel from Dragon Coast, Cormyr, and Sembia to the great cities of Amn, Tethyr, and far Calimshan. Looking forward to a good nights lodging and maybe spending a day or two relaxing, they push on expecting to arrive at about sunset. As they top the rise however, expecting a view of the pleasant, welcoming town they expected, they see columns of black smoke rising from burning buildings, running figures that are little more than dots at this distance, and a dark, winged shape wheeling low over the keep that rises above the centre of the town... Greenest is being attacked by a dragon!

The group hurries to town to help, some eager to help, others perhaps looking for opportunities in the chaos. As they arrive in the town, five humans dash out from between the buildings on their left. A limping man and three young childen run out followed by a woman with a wooden shield and a broken spear. On reaching an open space, she turns around, and eight kobolds stream out of the alley they came from and fan out to attack her. From twenty feet away, they party joins the fight and draws half of the kobolds away from the woman. After a couple hits from the kobolds, the woman is weakend and Gaia and Locutus rush to her side to help defend her family while the rest of the party finishes off the kobolds that came to them.

Almost dead, the woman suddenly is levitated to safety by Nephele, and the kobods are dispatched. Introducing herself as Linan Swift and her husband Cuth, she explains that the only safe place in town is the keep in the centre of the town green, and the party offers to escort her family there.
